The checks and balances system is like a football team. Each individual position relies on every other position to help do its job. But if nobody else is doing their job, nothing can get acomplished.
The separation of powers is like the coaches on a football team. Every coach does not coach every position, they each coach a different position. Each position has its own job, just like each branch in the government.
i had the same relations in my similie, the way any sports team works can be related to how the government works. If the team/govt isn't run the way it is suppose to, it is not as effective as it should be. By coaches on the team do you mean like a d-line coach apposed to an offensive coach? WHat would their positions on the team in govt. be as compared to the head coach, or even the owner of the football team (taking it farther)..
